Facebook Alternatives

Facebook Alternatives

Although Facebook is the most popular social networking website, many people do not like some of its most basic qualities. For example, Facebook has recently modified its instant messaging software, Facebook Chat, to run vertically on the right side of the user interface and is permanently seen no matter which page a user visits. The new Facebook Chat also does not allow users to see what they are typing once he/she fills the text box. Additionally, Facebook itself is designed for people to connect with friends they already know, rather than meeting new people. Because of these reasons, many users are seeking alternatives to Facebook. Several of these alternatives are outlined below.

MySpace

Before the age of Facebook, MySpace once dominated the social networking stage. MySpace is very similar to Facebook, but allows users to customize their profiles, meet new people, and enjoy a variety of features, such as MySpace Music, MySpace Movies, and MySpace Celebs. While businesses, bands, and venues can create pages or groups on Facebook, MySpace allows these entities to create elaborate profiles that are specifically designed to market to their needs. Additionally, users can now sign in to their MySpace accounts via their Facebook username and password.

Google +

An upcoming addition to the social networking world is Google +, a product of Google that allows users to stay in touch with their friends while connecting their various Google tools. While Facebook requires users to add all of their friends to the same group and share status updates with all of them, Google + will allow users to separate their friends into “Circles” and only share information with specific groups. For example, users will be able to place their friends in one Circle, their family in another, and their coworkers in another. However, Google + is currently in Beta Version and is only allowing a small group of people to participate.

MyYearbook

Another alternative to Facebook is MyYearbook, a growing community that is specifically designed for people who are looking to make new friends, connect with old friends, and even find a partner. Like Facebook, MyYearbook does not allow the user to customize their profile directly, although he/she can change his/her profile layout via HTML codes found on the Internet. MyYearbook includes various tools for meeting new people, such as Blind Date, Match, and the “People You Should Meet” stream. MyYearbook also allows users to “Like” each other statuses, comments, and pictures, as well as comment each other’s profiles.

10 Easy Tips For Reducing Your Belly Fat Fast

10 Easy Tips For Reducing Your Belly Fat Fast

How to lose belly fat is one of very common question these days among many of us reason being our unhealthy and sedentary lifestyles. Belly fat is positioned very deep the body skin and may cause many diseases at times including diabetes, heart diseases and cholesterol level. Thus belly fat not only raises visual problems but functional problems as well. Here I am outlining some simple tips on how to lose belly fat:

Tips For Reducing Belly Fat

    * Short of surgery, there is no simple process to quickly remove the fat. Reducing it requires time, patience and work.
    * When you exercise, make sure your movements are smooth and controlled.
    * Do your best to not arch your back during your abdominal workout. Arching your back can strain the muscles in your lower back and increase the length of time it will take to lose the fat.
    * Lots of people think that, in order for exercise to be effective, exercise must be done until the person feels out of breath and physically tapped. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Exercise until it feels uncomfortable and then cool down. As time goes on, you’ll find that the time it takes to feel winded or uncomfortable gets longer and longer.
    * Sit ups, when not paired with a full body workout do not actually flatten your stomach. In fact, unless you are working your entire abdominal region (and the rest of your body), sit ups will tone your abdominal muscles, making them more pronounced behind the layer of fat – making your stomach fat even more obvious!
    * Do some crunches when you would normally be lying around and doing something passive (like watching television or listening to music). Crunches are one of the best exercises you can do to work your abdominal muscle area.
    * Keep your workout routine varied. The more you do an exercise, the more your muscles will become used to it and the less effect it will have on your muscle tone and it will make it harder for you to get into shape.
    * Make sure that you are eating a healthy diet. All of the exercise in the world won’t do you any good if you aren’t eating healthy as well. Healthy foods have fewer calories and are easier for your body to digest.
    * Stay away from saturated fats and foods containing high fructose corn syrup. Saturated fat and high fructose corn syrup are two of the leading reasons why people have problems with belly fat in the first place.
    * Maintain proper posture. By sitting up straight you will be able to reduce the appearance of your stomach fat. Proper posture will also help you when you work out and you’ll find that you have less muscle aches!

These are just ten short tips to help you reduce stomach fat on your body. Remember that you need to work at all of your body’s fat to truly lose any weight or fat inches. If you only work on your stomach, your fat will simply relocate to some other area of your body!

Acne Treatment for Sensitive Skin

You can find numerous acne products for sensitive skin in the market. Consequently, selecting an effective skin care product for acne with minimal side effects is easier said than done. Nevertheless, do not trust in advertisements that promise a smooth skin within a few days. Check out the following tips regarding natural acne treatment for sensitive skin.

Avoid Using Makeup:

As mentioned earlier, sensitive skin usually reacts to any external product, including cosmetics. Makeup, containing strong chemicals, may result in skin breakouts, especially in those who have very sensitive skin. So applying cosmetics is strictly not recommended, until and unless acne is treated completely. At the most, you can use a mild moisturizer and sunscreen lotion.

Keep Affected Areas Clean:

Accumulation of dust and dirt in the skin triggers blockage of the sebaceous glands and inflammation of the skin. Hence, try to keep the acne affected skin areas clean and free of irritants. You can clean the affected skin with soaps that are specifically formulated for sensitive skin type.

Don’t Touch Your Face:

How many times do you run your hands over your face on a daily basis. Do you rub your eyes? Run your hands down to face to help you wake up? Perhaps you lay your head down on your arms or rest your chin in your hands. Skin to skin contact helps to stimulate the production of oils and with the natural oil on your hands and arms already, adding hand oil to overactive oils on the skin can have the obvious effect of boosting acne caused by this oil down in the pores.

Train yourself to not touch your face or neck at all. If you were a heavy toucher beforehand, not touching your face now may make a dramatic difference in the appearance of your skin.

Avoid Chemicals:

Sensitive skin reacts strongly to chemicals at times, so make sure that nothing on your face involves chemicals. You want to be sure that your face wash, lotions, make-ups and even hand lotions that might come in contact with your face are all free of perfumes, dyes and fragrances. These chemical additives make it challenging for your skin, and with strong dyes or perfumes come strong reactions.

If you have sensitive skin on your face, you likely have sensitive skin on your body as well. Changing detergents can have an interesting effect on how well you feel every day and how your skin reacts as well. If you’ve been itchy lately, try changing to a clear and clean detergent. Wash your bed sheets in the new detergent and then see if that affects your face as well that was formerly touching the old detergent on the pillow case.

Do Not Over-Wash:

Keeping the affected skin clean does not mean that you should wash it several times a day. The ideal frequency for washing is three times per day. Over-washing drains off the essential skin nutrients that replenish and hydrate the skin. Ensure that you use two separate wash cloths, one for washing and the another for drying skin after cleaning.

Use a Mild Cleanser:

While purchasing a skin cleaner for sensitive skin, make sure that you opt for a mild version with salicylic acid. On the safer side, you can consult a dermatologist for recommending a cleanser for your skin condition. Never indulge in scrubbing the affected areas while applying the cleanser. Otherwise, there are high chances of scarring and bruising.

Using Acne Products:

Prior to using acne skin care products for sensitive skin, always conduct a skin test. Apply some amount of the cream on the backside of the earlobe and place a band-aid over this area. Leave the skin like this for at last 4 days. If there is no abnormal reaction, then the product is safe for your skin type. Nevertheless, do not apply the cream if there are allergic signs like irritation, redness, itching and/or inflammation.

Use Oil-Free Moisturizers:

It’s important that you provide moisture to your skin every time that you wash your face. Washing your face removes oils that can cause breakouts, but it removes the oils that keep your skin healthy and smooth as well. Replace these oils with a clean, non oily moisturizer. A few daps will do you as you lightly rub in the moisturizer, again with your fingertips, not your whole hand.

If you’ve using a full skin care line that includes a toner or deep-cleansing topical treatment, use that treatment ahead of your moisturizer as the directions indicate on the container. Be cautious, however, about using the toners every day. Even toners that are designed for sensitive skin still generally contain alcohol. Rubbing alcohol on your face every day might lead to overly dry skin which boosts oil production and brings us back full cycle.

I hope you have understood some of the dos and don’ts of acne treatment for sensitive skin. Never think of using acne medication for sensitive skin before checking the ingredients and the product reviews. Educate yourself regarding the healthy and bad ingredients for treatment of acne and sensitive skin care. Only then would you be able identify the best acne products for sensitive skin.

Herbal Hair Care Treatment With Henna

Henna is the Persian name for a small shrub. A paste made of the powdered leaves is of ancient repute as a cosmetic. It has been used by Egyptian and Indian women to dye their finger nails ad make intricate patterns on their hands and feet in a orange-red color, which is considered to add to their existing beauty. It is still widely being used for dyeing hair and beards, as well as horse’s manes. Perfumes too are produced from the distilled waters of the henna flowers.

Henna is mostly used for its dyeing effect on hair. Henna renders a magnificent reddish brown color to dark hair. However, not many people are aware of its properties in treating hair loss and promoting hair growth. The reason why henna is effective in promoting hair growth is that, it can blend well with the natural proteins in hair, thereby stimulating hair growth.
Benefits of Henna For Hair

Henna is a natural remedy against hair loss. It is also of great use in maintaining healthy hair. Henna repairs and seals the cuticle, thus helps in healing hair shaft. This prevents the hair breakage and also retains the shine of hair.

Henna balances the pH of the scalp, thus, preventing premature hair fall. Henna cures most scalp problems such as dandruff, dryness etc. It also reverses the effects of pollution on hair as well as dryness due to excessive blow drying. Additionally, henna also stops premature graying of hair.
Hair Treatment With Henna

Henna hair treatment has been gaining popularity all over the world in recent years, and even today its popularity continues to grow. The craze for all things natural is widespread, and a hair care product like henna fits right into this craze. Fortunately, henna does in fact have many side effects, as long as you are using authentic henna, and not one of the many synthetic substitutes available, many of which are quite dangerous.

Products such as black henna and neutral henna are not really henna, but are prepared from other dyes. Many of these products, particularly black henna contain harsh chemicals that could have disastrous effects. These products are usually used for temporary tattoos and other body art, and not for hair care. However, it is good to be aware of this and avoid making costly mistakes.
How To Use Henna For Hair

Always use protective plastic gloves always, as the color will discolor your hands. The paste will also discolor your clothing, towels etc., so take necessary precautions. Permit the henna paste to settle on your hair for at least couple of hours. The duration of time necessary for coloring is dependent upon your hair type. If your hair gets the color very fast, it will be colored in about 40 minutes.

If your hair is opposed to the color, it could take the 8 hours. When the paste has been on your hair for the required length of time, rinse it carefully. Rinse until the water is clear. Then rinse again and again to gat the shiny look of your henna colored hair.

Henna can be mixed with asparagus, basil or other herbs for hair growth. Henna for hair growth is a natural and completely safe way of acquiring beautiful hair. Applying henna on hair can be a messy and time consuming job. However, you have an option of using commercially available henna products, but then you will have to compromise on its effective. Henna tends to lose its nourishing properties upon processing.
